This Week's Highlights

      It's a busy week at St. James....always!

 

  A reminder that we are collecting for the Clay County Clothes Closet.  Bring your new or gently used clothing, washed and clean and neatly packaged, and place them at the foot of the cross in the Entryway.   We will bless the items in worship, and send them off to be a blessing in the lives of those in need.

 

    We continue to collect food items for MLM.  We need both canned goods and your clean plastic shopping bags for MLM and the Pantry to use in packing up the food for distribution.  Place them in the shopping cart in the Entryway, and look for that cart to be upgraded!

 

   Mid-week Wednesday, we have a meal and worship opportunity!   Come at 6:00 p.m. and bring a "pot-luck" soup or dessert item to share.  We share a common meal around tables and conversation about The Lord's Prayer.  At 7:00 p.m. we engage in Vesper's Worship... a simple worship experience of prayer, song, and sermon.  This week, we're looking at the matter of forgiveness.

 

   The Congregagtion Council meets this week, so keep them in your prayers as they provide leadership.

 

   I'm looking for a few good folks who aren't currently connected to anything, specifically, I'd LOVE to find a few volunteers who would like to make this web site a bit prettier and more timely!

 New Online Church Calendar

As of Tuesday, June 9, 2009 we switched our Online Calendar system over to the new Google Calendar.  It will allow us to provide more up-to-date information as this data is pulled directly from the electronic calendar used within the Office. We're currently synching the online calendar up every two hours. 

If you have an event that you'd like to have added to the Church calendar, please contact the Office and Janet will be able to assist you with that.  As part of the new Calendar system, we will be providing email reminders out to committees that have regularly scheduled events.  If you have a non-regular event on the calendar, you can request a reminder be sent out to yourself or a group of people simply by providing those e-mail addresses to the office at the time the event is placed on the calendar.
